Still trying to figure it out

I have a total appreciation for watching the sun rise in the sky. I do. But, there are times when you've clearly not had enough sleep and can't appreciate it. That would be this morning.

It's creeping up on 6:45 and I've been up for over 2 hours just laying here. Birds chirping, nice summer breeze, floral scents coming through the window. For heavens sake, I wish I could enjoy it all!

Oh yeah, and my cat has discovered that one of the tall speakers in my livingroom is a great, braaaand new scratching post. I've basically been awake keeping him and his claws away from it. I mean, dude, that's why he has the couch. Ya know? I was planning on throwing it away before I move, so I gave it to him. He can have it. The entertainment system, that's mine, little guy.

This day isn't starting off the greatest, but I do have my Friday morning departure to Washington to look forward to. It'll be pretty sweet to escape this oppressive Fresno heat.

OK so not the best day (or days?) for you... I do hope the carbon fiber crack wasn't fatal. I haven't read everything before I felt compelled to post. So I am a sucky reader, for which I apologize.

But I wanted to let you know that your AMBBR photos are awesome. I am doing my first ride with TNT this year, at of course, beautiful Lake Tahoe. I am jazzed beyond belief, and your documentation of your ride with TNT has gotten me that way.

So yeah, as you posted on Flickr you may not be fancy schmancy guy with light and stuff, but your photos made me happy. And then I saw your other photo groups and saw your friend Amy got married, and had her hilarious smile on with you at her wedding! Makes me happy. Sad I'm a year late to miss you guys, you look like lots, LOTS of fun.

So that's all. Thanks for the preview of my upcoming weekend. We've worked hard for it, and I can't wait. My TNT page is at http://ride.feline.org and my blog is at http://blog.feline.org. If you want to know what the ride was like, just check out those spots, or http://fb.feline.org for my Facebook updates.

Thanks again for the awesome photos. You guys rocked that ride.

Hi Cat!
I'm so happy to hear that you enjoyed the ride photos and my training entries!

I'll say this: You are in for an amazing, amazing experience, Cat. You'll land and make your way to the hotel and probably see Teams from other areas out on the road riding and you will want to just get on your bike and ride with them! And that's just the day before the ride. Honestly, it was one of the most incredible weekends I've ever had. And riding around the Lake? One word. Stunning.

Nah, I'll add 2 more words: Completely stunning.

It's really incredible where you find yourself on the journey, isn't it? It's both a physical and mental challenge and it can sometimes still surprise me how far I've come. I'm sure you can relate :)

But really, in the end, we all know that the challenges we willingly put ourselves through are for one thing, The LLS. And you know Page has been along for the ride with you :) Keep up the hard work (and rest) and I hope your time at Tahoe goes well! I'll be looking forward to an update!
